NMC OSCE from 14th November

If you are taking the NMC OSCE on or after 14th November, you could be tested on new skills, silent-stations, and new patients’ procedure.

The NMC have changed the adult OSCE to include new skills:

  • Administration of Suppository
  • Bowel Assessment
  • Nasopharyngeal Suctioning
  • Nutritional assessment
  • Oral Care Plan
  • Oxygen therapy

But these changes aren’t new to us, as here at MNL, we have already been teaching these skills to our specialised nurses in the OSCE, where they have been taken for the new adult test. We have everything in place to ensure that anyone taking our training is in full possession of all the required knowledge and can hit the ground running.

New professional Values include:

  • Confidentiality
  • False representation
  • Falsifying Observations
  • Falsifying timesheets
  • Hospital food
  • Impaired performance
  • Laboratory results
  • Racism
  • Witnessed abuse
  • Concealment of bed status

Our trainers are experienced, knowledgeable, and ready to get you to where you need to be. Our smaller training groups ensure more time with our friendly trainers, who can boost your confidence and provide you with invaluable feedback.

At MNL, we don’t merely teach nurses to attempt memorising all the criteria, but how to apply NMC concepts and standards to these written stations and include critical aspects, allowing our nurses to feel more confident when they enter the workplace.

Our present training covers all aspects of the new exam, not only the new topics covered, but also any potential new patients, including Alzheimer’s disease.

New Evidenced based practice topics are:

  • Ankle sprain
  • Asperger’s syndrome
  • Bedside handover
  • Cervical screening
  • Cranberry juice and urinary-tract infections (UTIs)
  • Dementia and music
  • Fever in children
  • Restraint
  • Saline versus Tap water

We take bookings for paediatrics, mental health and adults. Companies and individuals are welcome. Get in touch and we can get you started on your exciting OSCE journey.
