Are you a registered nurse working as an HCA? Now is the time to get your UK NMC PIN

In the last year, we at My Nurse’s Life have helped hundreds of nurses transition back to working as registered nurses. Whether you are returning to the register as a UK nurse, or you’re an overseas nurse who has qualified overseas, now is the time to get back to what you are trained for.
My Nurse’s Life are still being sent carers directly by NHS Trusts to train the for the OSCE, as well as by private sector employers – essentially as we are known to help candidates achieve a first time pass ahead of competitors.
Incidentally, the NHS will most likely give preference to people already working in the UK, and the same goes for the private sector. This stems from the fact that as of July this year, the UK Government has changed the laws regarding carer Visas. So Carer Visas will no longer be reissued if you require this to remain in UK. This affects anyone who came to the UK after July 2023, as they will not qualify for indefinite right to remain on their current Carer Visa.
At My Nurse’s Life, our training is about much more than just about getting your PIN. We teach you about the subtleties of what is expected of you as a nurse in the UK, and how to provide effective care and understand cultural norms of the UK, making you a far more effective and efficient employee. This is something many overseas OSCE trainers are not able to convey adequately, meaning nurses can often join the register only knowing the criteria required to pass, and not the wider picture of working within the UK. At My Nurse’s Life, we ensure your move into the UK healthcare system is seamless and empowering. Our dedicated support helps you adapt with confidence, overcome stress, and develop a rewarding, long-term career.
Government Changes since July 2025 regarding carer visas
If you obtained a care-worker (or senior care worker) visa after July 2023
(If you are planning to apply (or extend) and your job is in adult social care (care worker / senior care worker), as of 22 July 2025 you cannot apply from outside the UK (new overseas application) for those roles. If you are already in the UK under such a visa, you may still be able to extend or switch until 22 July 2028 (under transitional arrangements) provided you satisfy criteria.
