Important service update: Launch of MyNMC

As part of its ongoing commitment to modernising and improving digital services, the Nursing and Midwifery Council (NMC) will launch MyNMC on 10 February 2026.

MyNMC is a modern, accessible and user-focused replacement for the existing NMC Online platform. The new system introduces improvements across all portals used by professionals, employers and education institutions, creating a clearer, more secure and more efficient user experience.

Improving the portal experience

MyNMC forms part of the NMC’s wider digital transformation programme. The system has been designed to make users’ day-to-day tasks simpler and more accessible, while strengthening security and improving overall performance.

Key benefits include:

  • A clearer and more intuitive interface

  • Improved accessibility

  • Enhanced system reliability

  • Stronger security protections

  • Streamlined processes for common tasks

How registrants are affected

To complete the transition to MyNMC, NMC Online will be unavailable from 6 February until 12pm (midday) on 10 February 2026 while systems are securely migrated.

During this period, users will not be able to access the portal or submit applications.

Actions required for users with open applications

Registrants who have an open application are required to submit their application form by 5 February 2026.

Where an application includes multiple forms, it is recommended that at least one form is submitted by this date.

Important information:

  • Unsubmitted application forms will not transfer to the new system

  • Any incomplete forms will need to be started again once MyNMC goes live

  • Submitted application forms will be accessible in MyNMC from 12pm on 10 February 2026

Applications impacted

The following application types may be affected by the downtime:

  • Overseas initial and subsequent registration

  • UK initial and subsequent registration

  • Readmission applications

  • Revalidation applications

  • Recordable qualifications applications

Registrants directly affected by these changes have been contacted by email.

New login requirements

All users of MyNMC will be required to sign in using Multi-Factor Authentication (MFA). This additional layer of security will help protect user accounts and sensitive information.

Further guidance on setting up MFA will be available on the NMC website.

Downtime during migration

As this is a large-scale technical migration, the NMC Online portal will remain unavailable from 6 February to 10 February 2026. The NMC will work to minimise disruption and restore full service as quickly and safely as possible.

The NMC appreciates users’ patience and looks forward to introducing MyNMC as a more modern and accessible digital service.
